Over the last two years you have come to know and love the SJ Jig because Swim jigs are great for covering water and getting a lot of bites. They excel around grass, wood, and docks. We have taken everything you loved about the SJ Jig and made it better in the SJ Jig V2.0!
Believe it or not, but we have an improved 5/0 Gamakatsu heavy wire hook. This new hook has a slightly different angle that allows the jig to move more easily through cover and provides an even better hook up ratio. It also has a longer point that provides an even sharper hook.
To account for the new hook, we changed the head shape slightly. The new head shape was designed to maneuver through aquatic obstacles more efficiently keeping you in the strike zone longer.
We have improved the lead mixture to include other metals, making it much harder. This gives you a more durable jig that holds the powder paint much longer.
The SJ Jig V2.0 now has a double banded skirt that will allow us to create even better color combinations in the future. The double band creates a very clean look and holds on the jig VERY well. In our testing we never had one slip on us.
Our field testing blew away our expectations. If you are skeptical of these changes, check out the video below where one field staffer caught over 30 bass on one jig.
Objective 1 - Strong Hook: This jig was built from the ground up around a 5/0 Gamakatsu heavy wire hook. We chose this hook for a number of reasons.
Objective 2 - Durability: Let's face it, fishing is expensive. We want our baits to last more than a few fish. We have accomplished this in a number of ways.
Objective 3 - It has to look good: It needs to look good to the bass! We used the following strategies to appeal to their senses:

Objective 1 - Strong Hook: This jig was built from the ground up around a 5/0 Gamakatsu heavy wire hook. We chose this hook for a number of reasons.
- They are extremely sharp for easy penetration.
- The hook has an exaggerated barb that is NO JOKE. The land ratio is amazing. When you hit one, you can just about start counting the prize money.
- The thicker wire gives you a more durable point. Making the jig last longer.
Objective 2 - Durability: Let's face it, fishing is expensive. We want our baits to last more than a few fish. We have accomplished this in a number of ways.
- We use a special blend of lead that is much harder than most lead jigs.
- We powder paint each jig to create an extremely durable finish.
- We use industrial strength glue to keep the weed guard in the head.
- We use a 40 strand double banded skirt. This gives the skirt a tremendous amount of grip.
Objective 3 - It has to look good: It needs to look good to the bass! We used the following strategies to appeal to their senses:
- We spent a lot of time agonizing over skirt colors. It is important to show the fish something very natural while still utilizing colors that will get their attention.
- Our powder paint colors have been chosen specifically to match the skirts creating a seamless transition.
- We use a two toned weed guard. By breaking up the colors it helps keep the fish from honing in on anything unnatural.
